10 Jason Statham Thrillers to Watch Before 'Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre'
Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre is set for early 2022 and Jason Statham plays Orson Fortune, the contractor he worked with Sarah Fidel (Aubrey Plaza) to stop a dangerous deal. In spy thrillers, as a rule, the main character does most of the work by disguising himself in order to hide. In the action movie Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre, Orson offers to hire Hollywood star Danny Francesco (Josh Hartnett) to help with the mission. There are several Statham films worth watching that are exciting, and in some cases, funny.

10. ‘Wrath of Man’ (2021)

Patrick Hill (Jason Statham) was hired by Fortico Security to transport money in an armored car to Wrath of Man. During the move, the truck is attacked by thieves. However, Hill handled the situation with ease. As the attacks intensified, Hill’s colleagues became suspicious of who Hill was and what his intentions were. The Wrath of Man may seem very similar to Statham’s previous Transporters, except that it wasn’t as easy to tell if Statham’s character wasn’t working with undercover criminals. The surprise and mysteries keep viewers hooked as they also try to figure out Hill’s backstory.

9. ‘Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw’ (2019)

Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw focused on two characters from the Fast & Furious franchise: Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) and Deckard Shaw (Statham). They became enemies after Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) and Hobbs seriously injured Shaw’s brother, Owen (Luke Evans) in Fast & Furious 6. Team Shaw and Toretto formed an alliance after realizing that they have a common enemy. In Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw, Shaw was a former M6 agent and British Special Forces soldier, and his sister Hattie (Vanessa Kirby) was targeted by Brixton (Idris Elba) after she stole a virus that could wipe out all of humanity.

In The Spy (2015), Susan Cooper (Melissa McCarthy) thought that when she joined the CIA, she would be in the field and she would be fighting the most wanted criminals. Instead, she worked at a desk as a backstage person where she helped CIA agents find the right route to escape from a very dangerous area. In The Spy, Statham’s character Rick Ford exaggerated his outrageous MacGyver skills with phrases such as “jumping out of a tall building using only his cape as a parachute.” For McCarthy, this turned out to be one of her best comedy roles.

In Parker (2013), Parker (Statham) joined a team of five so they could pull off a heist. While they left the heist unscathed, one of their team members, Melander (Michael Chiklis), told Parker that he would not be rewarded for his work on their next heist. When Parker refused to agree to these terms and demanded payment, he was left shot to death on the side of the road. Parker wanted to outsmart Melander and get a bigger share of the job back. He went to Florida to reconnoiter the property owned by Melander. While visiting the house, Parker met real estate agent Leslie Rogers (Jennifer Lopez), who wanted to help Parker with his new Melander execution plan.

In Homefront (2013), Phil Broker (Statham) and his daughter Maddie (Isabela Vidovic) have moved to Louisiana, the same city that Maddie’s late mother was from. When a boy started bullying Maddie at school, she defended herself against him in a school fight. The boy’s parents called the school to explain what really happened. The boy’s parents wanted Broker to settle the matter and demanded an apology. Phil retired from the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and wanted to raise his daughter in a safe environment. However, the boy’s mother Cassie Bodine (Kate Bosworth) was not going to let go of the school fight and asked her brother, Morgan “Gator” Bodine (James Franco), to scare the Broker family.

As she continued to run from her captors at the subway station, Luke Wright (Statham) stepped in to help her. Luke was previously a New York City detective and fighter. His family was killed after he accidentally killed his opponent in the ring. And when he learned of Mei’s memory gift, he swore an oath to protect her and insisted on learning the combination to the vault to keep Mei safe.

The Mechanic is a nickname given to Arthur Bishop (Statham). Bishop specialized in killing targets, but arranged the scene to make the target look like the target was killed by accident. An elite hitman has been offered one last job before he can retire and she must kill Harry, her former mentor. Bishop killed Harry and presented the cause as the aftermath of a car theft. At Harry’s funeral, Bishop met Steve McKenna, Harry’s son, who was determined to avenge his father’s death. Bishop decided to take Steve under his wing and train him to be the next “Mechanic”.

2. ‘The Italian Job’ (2003)
