3 Facts About The Movie Ip Man 2 (2010)

Briefly.

World War II is over, but China is still weak and poor. Ip Man opens his own school of martial arts, but it is not easy to win his place in the sun – in order to avoid problems, Ip Man must first gain the respect of representatives of other kungfu schools, and Hung Ip Man, who chairs their association, did not like him at first sight. Meanwhile, the presence of the British in Hong Kong is increasing, and some of them wanted to spit on Chinese traditions and customs. Ip Man 2 was directed by Wilson Yip and stars Donnie Yen, who reprises the leading role. Continuing after the events of the earlier film, the sequel centres on Ip’s early life in British Hong Kong. Producer Raymond Wong first announced a sequel before Ip Man’s theatrical release in December 2008. For Ip Man 2, the filmmakers intended to focus on the relationship between Ip and his most famed disciple, Bruce Lee. However, they were unable to finalize film rights with Lee’s descendants and decided to briefly portray Lee as a child.

During the fight with Twister, when Ip Man starts dominating and wins shortly after, Ip Man gets hit on points on Twister’s arms, causing him to be blocked.
