‘Extraction’ directed by Sam Hargrave is an action-thriller that features a mercenary named Tyler Rake (Chris Hemsworth) who is tasked with rescuing an Indian drug lord’s son Ovi (Rudhraksh Jaiswal). The film, with its suspense-filled plot, is predominantly navigated through its stunts and fights. The enriching action film keeps one hooked till its finished line. Like many characters, Rake has his own issues brewing at the back of his mind as he tries to rescue Ovi for a large sum. An unexpected twist of events, lead this mission to an almost dead-end, till Rake, overcome with emotion as a father himself, vows to take Ovi home. Emotions aside, the film works with clever and gripping action scenes that will have you holding on to the sides of your seat.

After a day at school, Ovi Mahajan – son of an incarcerated Indian drug lord – sneaks out of his house to visit a club with his friend. At the party, Ovi and his friend go to the garage to have a smoke, where they encounter corrupt police officers working for rival drug lord Amir Asif, who shoot Ovi’s friend and kidnap him. Tyler Rake, a former SASR operator turned black-market mercenary, is recruited by his handler Nik Khan, to save Ovi from Dhaka, Bangladesh. Rake and Khan’s team prepare to extract Ovi, with his father’s men set to pay them once Ovi is recovered. Rake saves Ovi, kills his captors, and takes him to the extraction point, but his father’s men intentionally fail to transfer the funds. Instead, Saju kills Rake’s teammates and tries to kill Rake so he can save Ovi himself. Learning of Ovi’s escape, Asif orders the head of the local police, Colonel Rashid, to initiate an immediate lockdown of Dhaka, securing all bridges and travel points out of the city.

The film thus provides much suspense and action. As the enemy closes in, Mike brings in his top game to save the day.
