Donnie Yen’s Lifestyle

Donnie Yen was born in 1963, 27th July in Guangzhou Guangdong China of Bow-Sim Mark and Klyster Yen, who are mother and father, respectively. His mother works for Fu Style Wudangquara, dealing with internal martial arts. She also works for Tai Chi. His father works for a newspaper company as an editor. When Yen reached the age of two, his family migrated to Hong Kong and later to Boston when he became eleven years old. Donnie has one renowned singer who is younger than him, who is a martial artist by career and an actor. He was featured in the 2007 film known as Adventures of Johnny Tao. When Donnie was in the early stage of his mother inspired him to create interest in Martial arts. Donnie began practicing with different styles, some of which were tai chi and other local Chinese martial arts.
At the age of nine, Yen shifted to Kung Fu style, but by the time he was fourteen years old, he concentrated on Wushu immediately after abandoning his education. This made Yen use most of his time practicing in Boston’s Combat Zone, which worried his parents. His parents coped with his situation by enrolling him in a two-year training program with the Beijing Wushu Team in Beijing. From Beijing, Donnie got back to the United States, where he organized a trip to Hong Kong to encounter Yuen Woo-ping, who was a Choreographer. Donnie yen initiated taekwondo when he was at the age of sixteen years. Yen’s family is also blessed with musicians as his mother is a soprano as well as a martial arts teacher in Boston. His father is a vocalist. This made Donnie familiarize himself with musical instruments like a piano. He can also perform hip-hop dancing styles and breakdances.
