Chuck Norris: Biography And Filmography

Carlos Ray “Chuck” Norris is an American martial artist and actor. After serving in the US Air Force, he began his rise to fame as a martial artist and has since founded his own school, Chun Kuk Do. As a result of his “tough guy” image, in 2005 a phenomenon known as the Chuck Norris facts began on the internet, crediting Norris with various implausible or even impossible feats. Norris appeared in several action films such as Way of the  Dragon, in which he co-starred with Bruce Lee and was the leading star of the Cannon Group in the 1980s. He then starred in the television series Walker, Texas Ranger from 1993 to 2001. Norris is a devout Christian and politically conservative. He has written several books on Christianity and donated to a number of Republican candidates and organizations. In 2007 and 2008, he campaigned for former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, who ran for the Republican presidential nomination in 2008. Norris also writes a column for the conservative WorldNetDaily website.
When he was only twelve, his parents divorced and he moved to California with his mother and brothers. It is there that he finishes his high school studies and quickly marries his girlfriend Diana HOLECEK, whom he divorces after 30 years of marriage and three children. After his marriage, he joined the US Air Force and was sent to military service at the Osan base in South Korea. Here he gets the nickname Chuck and begins to learn Tang Soo Do. He then returns to the United States at March Base in California. He completed his military service in August 1962, without participating in any other combat operations, except for base training. He holds a black belt in Tang Soo Do, Taekwondo and is the founder of Chun Kuk Do (“Universal Way”). He also practiced judo and jiu-jitsu. He is the founder of the UFAF (United Martial Arts Federation).
He is best known as a seven-time World Middleweight Karate Champion between 1968 and 1976 and the first Westerner to become a Taekwondo Grandmaster at the age of 57! Upon his return, he worked at Northrop and opened a karate school attended by many celebrities, including Steve McQueen. His son Mike NORRIS was born in 1963, followed by his daughter Dina in 1964, and his second son Eric NORRIS was born in 1965. 1964 was a turning point in Chuck Norris’s life: he met Chuck’s real history of action and martial arts, giving him a supporting role in the mythical film Dragon’s Fury (1972). In 1968, Norris became the middleweight karate champion, and in 1969 won the triple crown in karate for the record tournament won in the year and the title of “Fighter of the Year” according to Black Belt Magazine
