The best candidate for a cameo in Jean-Claude Van Damme’s latest action movie is his original villain, Bolo Yeng. Over the years, the Brussels Muscles have paired up against an impressive roster of opponents, many of whom were talented martial artists and other action icons.
Van Damme himself confirmed that What’s My Name? will be his last combat vehicle. Since the late 1980s, he has appeared in action and martial arts films. The 61-year-old actor will end this chapter of his life with What’s My Name?, where he plans an amnesiac version of himself.
It will also require Van Damme to take on several villains from his previous films. Naturally, this led to speculation that the film would feature some of Van Damme’s most famous co-stars, such as Dolph Lundgren, who fought him in Universal Soldier.
The 1988 martial arts classic has the reputation of being the first JCVD starring role and the movie that made him a star. In the film, Van Damme’s Frank Dax was pushed to the limit in an underground arena where his biggest obstacle was the ruthless and bloodthirsty Chong Lee.

Best remembered for his muscular physique, killer gaze, and brutal martial arts moves, Chong Li was more than a worthy character for Van Damme. Jung also helped create one of the most popular fight scenes in American martial arts films, which was the last fight between Frank Dax and Chong Li in Bloodsport.
Van Damme has already voiced his intention to pay tribute to the Bloodsport in What’s My Name?, raising the possibility of Jung reuniting with the actor on the big screen for the first time since 1991’s Double Impact. Double Impact was the second (and last) film that Van Damme and Yeung made together.
Jung’s cameo would be an important addition to the film, regardless of the actor’s connection to Van Damme’s legacy. Known as Chinese Hercules, the actor has played villains in dozens of kung fu films, three of which are iconic in the martial arts genre. One of them is, of course, Bloodsport, and the other two are Enter the Dragon (where he fought Bruce Lee) and Five Fingers of Death, the first kung fu film to become an international hit. All things considered, Bolo Jung is by far a martial arts icon and certainly deserves a cameo in What’s My Name? And although the 75-year-old actor hasn’t acted in films since 2015, he hasn’t officially retired yet, so a reunion with Jean-Claude Van Damme is very possible.
