Jean-Claude Van Damme and Dolph Lundgren reunite for Black Water, a Dawn’s Light Media action thriller. Van Damme and Lundgren had previously featured in other Universal Soldier action films, but they were usually on opposite sides of the flying fists and feet. For the first time, they appear as onscreen allies in Black Water. The story, written by Chad Law, follows a deep cover officer (Van Damme) who wakes up at a CIA black site aboard a submarine. Richard Switzer of Dawn’s Light is producing alongside Tyler Konney. Alexander Ferguson and Jason Cherubini will serve as executive producers. Dawn’s Light is financing the picture.
Switzer and Konney recently completed a finance deal on the Josh Hutcherson-Alexandra Shipp horror comedy Tragedy Girls and also produced Altitude, a thriller that starred Lundgren and Denise Richards. The company has offices in Los Angeles and Maryland. Taylor & Dodge will handle worldwide sales on the film. Van Damme appears in Amazon’s original comedy series Jean-Claude Van Johnson, which premiered earlier this year and was picked up by the streaming site. Gersh and Hirsch Wallerstein represent him.
