The Last Mercenary
Breumer was absent from Archie’s life as Archie’s mom arranged for her child to have a safe life before her death when he was receiving payments from the government and which he was unaware of. This life comes to an end when Alexander (Alban Ivanov), a conscientious employee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stops Archie’s payments and immunity, fearing that this is a scam. In The Last Mercenary, Brewmer and Archie mend their broken relationship and try to clear his name with the help of Alexander and Archie’s friends. This leads them to face a criminal who used Archibald’s name to keep his integrity and try to buy a Big Mac so it doesn’t fall into the wrong hands.

Marguerite’s  Twist Explained

The famous actress Miu Miu is introduced in the film as an old friend of Breumer who worked with him as part of a top-secret team. In the finale, it is revealed that she is secretly the mother of Paul Lesueur (Eric Judor), the unofficial person in charge of the Foreign Office. This is revealed when Paul accidentally calls her mom in front of Archie and the team, while Alexander reveals the secret to Breumer, who was in the other room. She explains that she had Paul in secret so she could still join the department, but she became jealous of Breumer’s child’s special treatment. This prompted Marguerite to take on the Big Mac so that she and Paul could sell it for millions of dollars to start a new life. Marguerite begins to sink and holds the microphone underwater, but she tells Breumer after her fidelity is known that he would have known she was a skilled swimmer if he had done his research. Unfortunately for Marguerite and Paul, they are defeated by Breumer and his team, with some help from local law enforcement.

How Brumère & His Team Escape Captivity

Once Marguerite and Paul are captured, Brumer, Archie, Alexander, Delilah and Momo are left surrounded by Commandant Jouard and his men. Jouard appears in the ballroom after supposedly dying from Marguerite’s gunshot a few minutes earlier. However, he comes to the rescue after discovering that his tuxedo is bulletproof. Jouard and Breumer have a troubled past, so despite helping to keep the Big Mac safe, Jouard wants nothing more than to arrest his supposed rival. Unfortunately for him, The Last Mercenary ends with Brumer and his team escaping captivity. Jean-Claude Van Damme’s film does not show how Breumer and company left Jouart’s team. The room turns black as all power is lost, indicating that Brewmer turned on the Big Mac to aid his escape. Jouard is then heard shouting his name to signify that he has gotten out, and The Last Mercenary” shows Breumer walking through the streets of France as a free man.

Who Archibald’s?

One of the lingering questions The Last Mercenary leaves viewers with is who Archibald’s impostor really was. The film repeatedly shows an arms dealer and drug dealer possessed by Scarface. He uses the Archibald name as a cover to remain protected during his stay in France, where he is not supposed to be. When Breumer and his team eventually confront the impostor, it is Archie who knocks him down. However, the impostor Archibald manages to escape and return to his homeland once the false identity becomes useless.

How Last Mercenary’s Ending  Setup A Sequel

At the very beginning of the credits, there are two scenes in which the men receive messages that say “The goose came out of the freezer.” The same phrase is used by Archie’s guardian Fernand when he learns that Archie’s cover has been blown. Both men who received this message appear to be working undercover: This could mean that in The Last Mercenary 2, the other parties will continue to go after Archie, either to get revenge for what Brewmer did in the past, or for what he thinks that he is connected to an impostor. The Last Mercenary also features a post-credits scene in which unexpected events take place for a potential sequel.

The tag shows that Delilah is having a baby and that Archie having is the father. To make the scene even more surprising, Brewmer’s final disguise is a doctor and it is revealed that he helped deliver the baby to keep his promise that he would be there for the most important moments in Archie’s life. This scene may just be a fun tag used as a tribute to a real birth. But if The Last Mercenary truly considers this to be canon, then adding a baby to the mix and developing Delilah and Archie as romantic partners will drastically and change the course of the story.
