Despite roles in the likes of Doctor Strange and John Wick: Chapter 4, Scott Adkins continues to fly largely under the radar as action cinema’s best kept secret. But this should not be the case, declares director Isaac Florentine, in a sentiment that will no doubt echo with fans of the Avengement star. Florentine, who has helmed various movies with Adkins in the lead including Undisputed III: Redemption, believes that the time has come for Adkins to enter the A-list, and says he should have played James Bond and Batman.
“Scott should have been James Bond, he should have been Batman. Because people will see someone who not only can act, but can move like nobody else, with no stunt guys and no doubles. He deserves to be a mainstream star.”
Speaking with THR, Florentine’s suggestion that Adkins should have played either 007, The Dark Knight, or both, will no doubt resonate with fans of the action star. While it’s unknown if he has a history with Bond, Adkins did audition for the role of Batman in Zack Snyder’s Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, using lines from Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises.

role of Batman, in large part thanks to his resemblance to the DC character and his real-life talent for martial arts.
Of course, Adkins potentially has the chance now to play one or both Bond and Batman, with the 007 franchise likely to be rebooted following the release of Daniel Craig’s last outing, No Time to Die, while Batman will undergo his own reboot for James Gunn’s DCU movie The Brave and the Bold.
