Scott Adkins is a black belt in Taekwondo, & has studied kickboxing under Anthony Jones, as well as experience in Mauy Thau, Ninjitsu, krav maga, capoeira, wushu, karate, and jiujitsu. Both Jean-Claude Van Damme and Scott Adkins are highly skilled martial artists and actors known for their work in action films. Comparing their fighting abilities is subjective and depends on individual preferences. Van Damme gained fame in the 1980s and 1990s for his martial arts skills and acrobatic abilities, while Adkins is known for his expertise in various martial arts disciplines and stunt work. Both have their own unique styles and strengths, so it’s difficult to definitively say who is the better fighter.

Jean-Claude Van Damme was a competitive karate athlete in the late 1970s. He was a member of the Belgium Karate Team when it won the European Karate Championship in 1979. And he won most fights throughout his competitive career. He began training in martial arts at the age of ten when his father enrolled him in the Shotokan Karate School. His styles include Shotokan Karate and kickboxing. He eventually earned a black belt in karate at age 18 and was promoted to 2nd dan black belt. He began lifting weights to improve his physique, which eventually led to the Mr. Belgium bodybuilding title. He later began training in taekwondo and Muay Thai.  
Adkins began practising martial arts at age 13, taking up Taekwondo and earning his black belt at age 19. Scott Adkins He first became interested in martial arts at the age of ten, when he attended a local judo club with his father and older brother. After he was robbed at age 13, his interest in martial arts increased even more. That same year he began training in taekwondo. From the age of 16, Scott also began kickboxing with Anthony Jones, eventually becoming a kickboxing instructor for the Professional Karate Association. He has also gained experience in Ninjutsu, Krav Maga, Karate, Wushu, Aikido, Jujutsu, MMA, Capoeira and Gymnastics.
