Biography

Sylvester Stallone was born and raised in Manhattan, New York. His mother, Jacqueline “Jackie” Stallone (née Labofish), was an athlete and dancer, and his father, Francesco “Frank” Stallone, was a hairdresser. On his mother’s side, Sylvester has French roots and on his father’s side, Italian roots. An interesting fact is that due to forceps delivery, the actor’s face is partially paralyzed from birth. In many interviews, Sylvester Stallone revealed that his childhood was not easy. His parents neglected him and his younger brother Frank Jr., as a result of which the boys were placed in numerous foster homes. His parents divorced when he was 9 years old. Sport was an important part of Stallone’s life. Already as a teenager, he played for the school’s soccer team, trained fencing and lifted weights. Soon he received a sports scholarship and in 1960–1963 he studied at the American College of Switzerland in Leysin, Switzerland. It was there that he discovered his love of acting. After returning to the States, he enrolled in acting at the University of Miami, which he quickly dropped out of and decided to return to New York City. There he got his first works as an actor.

Personal Life

Sylvester Stallone has been married three times. He met his first wife, photographer Sasha Czack, long before starting his acting career, when he worked as a billionaire in the cinema. The couple had two sons: the younger autistic Seargeoh (born 1979) and the elder Sage Moonblood (born May 5, 1976), who was also, like his dad, an actor. Sage died at the age of 36 from atherosclerosis. Stallone’s second wife was Danish model Bridgitte Nielsen, whom the actor married on December 15, 1985. The marriage, however, only lasted nineteen months. Soon after, Sylvester Stallone got involved with model Jennifer Flavin. The couple got married on May 7, 1997 and have three daughters: Sophie (born August 27, 1996), Sistine Rose (born June 27, 1998) and Scarlet Rose (born May 25, 2002). The actor is passionate about art. In his spare time, he paints oil paintings, and his idol is Leonardo da Vinci.

Actor Career

Sylvester Stallone began his acting career playing in off-Broadway productions. He made his screen debut in the erotic comedy “Wieczorek u Kitty i Studa” (The Party at Kitty and Stud’s, which many years later, when Stallone became famous, appeared on VHS tapes as “Italian stallion” stallion) In one of the interviews, Stallone revealed that he earned only $ 200 for his participation in the film. Over the years, he played episodic roles in various films, but his characteristic appearance prevented him from getting the lead roles. The turning point in his career was 1976. It was then that Stallone wrote the screenplay for the film about the legend of god Rocky Balboa. The film based on it received as many as ten Oscar nominations (of which it received three statuettes for the best film, directing and editing), and the production was so successful that the boxer’s adventures were recorded four more times. This is how “Rocky II” (1979), “Rocky III” (1982), “Rocky IV” (1985) and “Rocky Balboa” (2006) were created. The success of the film resulted in the actor offering many roles in various action films. The second breakthrough performance that Sylvester Stallone stole the hearts of viewers around the world was the character of Vietnam war veteran John Rambo in the 1982 movie “Rambo – First Blood” and its sequels – “Rambo II” (1985), “Rambo III” (1988) and “John Rambo” (2008).
